Set In Hand Specialist Services Ltd was founded in 1985 by James and Ivy Smithies, who retired in 2020, after 35 years loyal leadership.

Tracy joined Set In Hand in 1990, Will then followed in 2001 to support Tracy and set up the home packaging sister company. Finally Jon, who joined in 2005 brings the youthful ambition to drive the company forward. Together, they continue a friendly, family orientated concern which places customer service above all else, no matter the size of the customers business, which is still thriving in today’s competitive market place. 

We believe that combining a modern approach to the business with traditional values of service will mean Set In Hand will prosper and grow in the future.

Set In Hand operates from 50,000 square feet of warehousing in Stowmarket, Suffolk. We provide clients with a comprehensive, high-quality service covering all aspects of fulfilment, storage, picking/packing, and distribution.

With direct links to Felixstowe and the A14, we offer excellent access for both UK and overseas businesses.

Our clients include Greetings Card Publishers, Novelty and Gift Suppliers all of whom rely on us as a cost effective, dependable alternative to running their own warehouses.

One of the secrets to our long term success is our team. Many of our 42 trained staff have been with us for years, ensuring a high level of consistent service and hands-on knowledge passed down through generations.
